This British Weightlifting Level 1 Award in Coaching Weight Lifting Course is designed to provide coaches with their first step on the weightlifting coaching pathway.
Who is this course suitable for?
The Level 1 Award in Coaching Weightlifting with practical day is designed for those who are new to coaching, but who have some knowledge of the sport and would like to learn how to apply that in a coaching environment with access to a BWL tutor. Learners should be committed to their own development and should be looking to gain experience whilst working with a more experienced coach who is already qualified at Level 2 Coaching or higher.
Learners will cover an introduction to the processes and principles of coaching weightlifting to adults and children. You will be helped to understand how to effectively assist more qualified coaches, and design individual training sessions.
E-learning
Our coaching courses have been updated with new information that integrates the new BWL Technical Model and the latest insights from the BWL Performance Team.
The length of the e-learning course has increased from 4-8 hours to 12-16 hours to give you time to complete all the extra learning we have included. All assessments have also now moved online to enhance the practical day learning experience and allow learners more time to focus solely on applying what they have learned in a coaching environment.
Practical
Following feedback from previous learners we have listened and modified the practical sessions from two days to one day. The session now focusses on how to coach, an opportunity to ask BWL tutors questions relating to the e-learning already covered and how it translates into practical learning, along with peer to peer practice and support. Social distancing and COVID guidelines will be followed for all practical delivery.
Our tutors have a broad range of backgrounds and skills from education, strength & conditioning and coaching, allowing us to give
