1. Who we are

2. Definitions
Facility: The Crazy Strength gym premises and equipment at Unit 13 The Beacon Centre, Solar Way, Solstice Park, Amesbury, SP4 7SZ.
Membership: The contract giving you access to the Facility and any included services for the period paid.
Member: The person who joins and is named on the account ("you").
Access Credentials: Your PIN access, swipe card, fob, or QR code.
Staffed Hours: Times when a class or manned service is being provided.
Unstaffed Hours: Times when the Facility is accessible but not staffed.

3. Joining, cooling‑off and start date
3.1 Joining online or at distance: If you join online or otherwise at distance, UK consumer law generally provides a 14‑day cooling‑off period from the day after you join. If you use the gym during the cooling‑off period and then cancel, we may deduct a pro‑rata amount for any services used (e.g. days of access or sessions).
3.2 Joining on‑site: If you join in‑person at the Facility, cooling‑off rights may not apply. We may, at our discretion, offer a goodwill cooling‑off period.
3.3 Start of access: Access starts when we activate your Membership and issue your Access Credentials.

4. Membership types and inclusions
4.1 We may offer different plans (e.g., Open Gym, Classes, Clubs). Your inclusions (e.g., class booking windows, guest passes, clubs) are shown at sign‑up and in your member portal.
4.2 We may add, amend or withdraw services/classes. Where changes are material and disadvantage you, we will give reasonable notice and your right to cancel under Clause 15 remains unaffected.

5. Payments, Direct Debit and fees
5.1 Recurring payments: Membership is paid monthly in advance by Direct Debit on the first of each month, pro-rata if signing up part way through. By joining you authorise us and our payment provider to take payments.
5.2 Direct Debit Guarantee: Your bank/building society protects you under the UK Direct Debit Guarantee. If an error is made in the payment of your Direct Debit, you are entitled to a full and immediate refund from your bank.
5.3 Failed payments: If a payment fails, access may be suspended until payment is received. We may re‑attempt collection and/or apply a reasonable admin fee to cover our third‑party costs.
5.4 Price changes: We may change prices with at least 30 days’ notice by email or app notification. You may cancel before the change takes effect.
5.5 Joining fees/Reactivate fees: Where applicable, these will be shown at checkout and in your plan summary.

6. Booking policies, cancellations and no‑shows
6.1 Late cancellation or No-Show: Late cancellations or missing a booked class without cancelling may incur a no‑show fee of up to £10 and/or temporary booking suspension.
6.3 Donation of fees: Where stated, we may donate net proceeds of these fees to our chosen charity.

7. Freezing your Membership
7.1 You may freeze once per calendar year for up to 30 days for injury or extenuating circumstances. Additional freezes may be granted at our discretion and may attract an admin fee.
7.2 Freezes pause access and billing for the freeze period. Freezes cannot be back‑dated.

8. Access control, swipe cards & anti‑tailgating
8.1 Your Access Credentials are personal. Do not share them or allow anyone to follow you in (no tailgating).
8.2 You must use your own access PIN/card every visit. Allowing unauthorised access is a serious breach and may result in immediate suspension or termination (see Clause 16).
8.3 Lost/stolen card/fob: Tell us immediately. Replacement fee £10 may apply.
8.4 We will use site CCTV and access logs to investigate misuse.
8.5 During Unstaffed Hours, you are responsible for your own safety and must comply with the Out‑of‑Hours rules (Clause 9).

9. Out‑of‑Hours / Unstaffed Hours – additional rules and risk notice
9.1 The Facility may be unstaffed at certain times, when coached classes are not taking place. By training during these times you accept increased risks, including reduced immediate assistance if you become unwell or injured.
9.2 You agree to:
a) Train within your capabilities and use spotters or safety devices where appropriate (e.g., safety bars).
b) Avoid high‑risk lifts alone (e.g., 1RM bench without safeties/spotter).
c) Keep your phone on you, with emergency contact enabled; know emergency exits and first‑aid/defib locations.
d) Not use the Facility while under the influence of alcohol, narcotics or medication that impairs safe exercise.
9.3 Buddy systems or designated safe‑use practices may be required for certain activities after hours; follow posted signage and staff guidance.

10. Health screening, medical conditions and orientation
10.1 On joining, you must complete a PAR‑Q (or equivalent) truthfully and update us if your answers change.
10.2 If you have a condition that may affect safe exercise, you must seek medical advice before using the Facility and follow that advice.
10.3 We may require a medical clearance or restrict certain activities where we reasonably believe there is a risk to you or others.
10.4 We may offer or require an induction/orientation on safe equipment use. If you are unsure about equipment, ask a coach before use.

11. Age and minors
11.1 The minimum age for standard Membership is 16. Under 16s may only train as part of an approved program with parental/guardian consent and waiver and under appropriate supervision.
11.2 For any youth programs, additional safeguarding rules will apply and will be communicated to parents/guardians.

12. Behaviour and facility etiquette
12.1 Be respectful to other users and staff: no abusive, aggressive or threatening conduct.
12.2 Wear appropriate clothing/footwear; use towels and clean equipment after use. Replace kit to storage.
12.3 Use chalk considerately and clean residue.
12.4 Do not stand in another lifter’s line of sight during attempts; use platforms and racks appropriately.
12.5 Barbell drops: Only drop barbells when using bumper plates of ≥10 kg each side and only on suitable flooring. No weights are to be dropped in the upstairs of the facility.
12.6 Take special care near windows and glazed areas; you are responsible for damage caused by negligent or reckless behaviour.

13. Personal property
13.1 Bring only necessary valuables.
13.2 We are not liable for loss, theft or damage to your property on our premises unless caused by our negligence.

14. Accidents, incidents and insurance
14.1 Report any accident, injury or near‑miss to staff immediately (or by email if out of hours) so it can be recorded.
14.2 For youth programs, promptly report safeguarding concerns to the Performance Director [Craig Spicer] for logging and action immediately (Craig@Crazystrength.co.uk).
14.3 We maintain appropriate public liability insurance; this does not replace your personal insurance or medical cover.

15. Cancelling your Membership
15.1 You may cancel at any time by giving us at least 30 days’ notice before your next Direct Debit date by emailing contact@crazystrength.co.uk.
15.2 If you do not give 30 days’ notice, the next payment will be taken and your Membership will end at the end of that paid month.
15.3 Your statutory cooling‑off rights (Clause 3) are unaffected.

16. Suspension or termination by us
16.1 We may suspend or terminate your Membership (with or without notice, depending on seriousness) if you:
a) Share Access Credentials or allow tailgating;
b) Engage in abusive, aggressive or dangerous conduct;
c) Seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms or posted rules;
d) Do not pay fees when due; or
e) Commit vandalism, theft or fraud.
16.2 In serious cases we may end your Membership immediately. Fees are not refundable where termination results from your breach.

17. Temporary closures and changes to hours
17.1 We may close all or part of the Facility temporarily for maintenance, upgrades, events, or for health and safety/security reasons. We will give reasonable notice where practicable.
17.2 If we close for more than 5 consecutively (and the closure materially impacts your ability to use your plan), we may, at our discretion, extend your membership or credit your account for the affected period.

18. Guests and transfers
18.1 Guest passes (if included with your plan) may only be used when the guest checks in and completes a waiver. You must not admit guests using your Access Credentials.
18.2 Memberships are personal and non‑transferable.

19. Intellectual Property
19.1 Our branding, logos and content are the intellectual property of Crazy Strength UK Ltd. Do not use without prior written permission.

20. Data protection, privacy and CCTV
20.1 We process your personal data (e.g., contact details, access logs, CCTV footage) to administer your Membership, provide a safe facility, prevent fraud/tailgating and for security.
20.2 We operate CCTV in certain areas for security and safety. Signage is displayed. Footage is retained for 30 unless required for investigation.

20.4 We are a data controller under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. You can contact us at contact@crazystrength.co.uk for privacy enquiries.

21. Safety, equipment use and damage
21.1 Use equipment properly and safely. If unsure, ask before use.
21.2 You agree to pay for damage to the Facility or equipment caused by wilful, negligent or improper use.

22. Liability and assumption of risk
22.1 You understand that exercise carries inherent risks. Except for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or other liability that cannot be limited by law, we are not liable for any loss or injury to you arising from your use of the Facility.
22.2 You agree to assume responsibility for your own health and the way you use the Facility, especially during Unstaffed Hours.

23. Complaints
23.1 Please raise concerns with a coach during staffed hours or email Contact@crazystrength.co.uk. We aim to respond within 5 working days.

24. Changes to these Terms
24.1 We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or app notification. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, you may cancel (Clause 15).

25. Governing law
25.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England & Wales.
